Do you think hard cider is considered beer or wine?

In my opinion, why doesn't it have its own category?! Hello, I think it's worthy enough!

Jokes aside, depending on the state, hard cider is regulated differently. On a federal and state level, hard cider isn't regulated on its own.

On a federal level, hard cider is regulated as still wine. On a state level, most define it as a wine as well because similar to wine, it is made from fruit.

New Jersey separately defines cider, but regulates it as wine.

In Pennsylvania, cider is regulated as beer.

What do you think? Should cider be its own category?
